Living near the ocean comes with a heavy price for air conditioners: airborne marine salts dissolve aluminum fins and cause microscopic refrigerant pinhole leaks. Learn how to protect your exterior condenser section with proper coil rinsing and protective care.
Severe galvanic rot within 2-3 years without bi-monthly rinses and anti-corrosion coatings.
Moderate salt mist deposition; requires bi-annual professional chemical rinse and coil check.
Lower salt concentration, but exposed to red dirt and high ambient heat demanding seasonal coil washing.
Fresh water alone doesn't dissolve deeply bonded marine salts and galvanic oxides. We apply specialized non-acidic neutralizing foaming agents that bind to sodium chloride crystals and float them out of the fin pack without attacking the aluminum metal.
Our technicians also inspect window mounting brackets, apply anti-corrosive barrier protection, and check compressor isolation pads.
